Vetropack at Swiss industry summit

The GLUG, Switzerland’s meeting place for brewers and beverage producers, will be held for the third time in Aarau on February 6 and 7. Vetropack, in collaboration with Vetrum Ltd, will be presenting reusable solutions at the event.

The GLUG offers a unique platform for dialogue between international suppliers and local customers. A key focus for both parties is developing beverage packaging solutions that are as sustainable as possible. Vetropack looks forward to engaging with stakeholders across the entire value chain to advance reusable solutions in Switzerland.

Vetropack is showcasing its innovative, thermally hardened lightweight glass bottle, designed as a foundation for an optimised refillable system. In 2025, the bottle was honoured with the prestigious WorldStar Award from the World Packaging Organisation for the second time. The packaging is remarkable: not only is it up to 30 percent lighter than standard reusable bottles, it is also significantly more resistant to abrasion. This makes the lightweight glass bottle a particularly sustainable solution, with CO2 emissions per bottle amounting to only about a quarter of a normal refillable bottle – all while offering significantly extended circulation times. Introduced in Austria last year as the standard solution for the brewing industry, the bottle has already demonstrated its outstanding practical suitability. By presenting it at the GLUG, Vetropack is further supporting the advancement of sustainable packaging solutions in the Swiss market.
