Investigation by the antitrust authority
09.11.2023: On Wednesday 8 November 2023, the Italian subsidiary Vetropack Italia Srl was addressed with an inspection by the Italian antitrust authority “Autorità Garante per la concorrenza e il mercato” within an investigation involving several glass manufacturers in Italy.
The investigation is said to originate from certain complaints put forward by local customers and is aimed to verify possible unfair trade practices made from 2022 onward which might have resulted in unjustified price increases. Vetropack Italy Srl cooperated with the Authority and gave access to the documentation asked for.
In denying any unfair behaviour, Vetropack Italy Srl will of course firmly defend itself in the forthcoming steps of the procedure, which is likely to last several months before the authority issues its report based on its findings.
