Continuous excellence: Vetropack Straža wins the Golden Marten Aaward for 2022

20.10.2023: On Thursday, 19 October 2023, the Krapina County Chamber of Economy Golden Marten award ceremony for the year 2022 was held in Zabok. In the category of large companies, Vetropack Straža d.d. won the plaque.

The Golden Marten was accepted by Darko Šlogar, President of the Board of Directors of Vetropack Straža, who was accompanied at the ceremony by Claude Cornaz, President of the Board of Directors of the Vetropack Group, who led the acquisition of the Hum glassworks by Vetropack in 1996.

On this occasion, Darko Šlogar emphasised: "This recognition is first and foremost the result of the work, dedication and expertise of each and every one of our employees. I must mention that this recognition and confirmation of the importance of cooperation with our partners, the local community and all those who have supported us along the way. Because Vetropack Straža is not just a business story; it is a story of commitment to sustainability, care for the environment and involvement in the community. This award obliges us to continue to invest in the sustainability and development of our organisation, and I can promise you right now that we will continue to work with the same enthusiasm and commitment to justify this recognition. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our success and congratulate the other winners today, as well as all the entrepreneurs in our county, for their perseverance and commitment to the economic development of our region.

The basic criteria for the award of the Golden Plaque are the business results of the past year, which also take into account the specifics of the Croatian economy, especially employment, the creation of new jobs and employee satisfaction. This year, the first Croatian ESG rating and the corresponding questionnaire brought additional points. The ESG rating is a rating assigned to an organisation based on its approach to the environment and society and the management practices it adopts.

Pireko d.o.o. from Oroslavje was awarded the Golden Kuna in the category of medium-sized companies, while CODX Solutions d.o.o. from Krapina was awarded the Golden Kuna in the category of small companies.

Mayor Željko Kolar congratulated the winners and pointed out that the best entrepreneurs from the entire Krapina-Zagorje County were gathered at the awards ceremony: "Even in the biggest crises, our entrepreneurs invested in people and new technologies, which helped us to come out of the crisis faster than others. The Krapina-Zagorje County export to import ratio is 180 per cent, while the Croatian average is around 70 per cent, which shows the strength of our economy".
