Closure of the St-Prex plant: production resumes

27.05.2024: After the workforce in St-Prex went on strike last Friday, glass production was restarted today. However, the warehouse is still on strike. The Management Board has postponed the dispatch of the first redundancy notices for the time being and is confident that it will be able to present the social plan shortly after resuming talks with employee representatives and trade unions this afternoon.

“We are continuing talks with trade unions and employee representatives,” comments CEO Johann Reiter. “We hope to be able to progress quickly and present the social plan for the employees in St-Prex within a few days.”

Vetropack is currently unable to deliver any goods from St-Prex due to the strike in the warehouse. If this situation does not change, the company could be forced to shut down production in the next few days for safety reasons. In the meantime, Vetropack is working hard to find solutions to continue supplying customers from other plants and is in close contact with them. The relocation of production capacity to sister plants is already well underway.
