The Board of Directors of the Vetropack Holding, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of glass packaging, nominates Urs Ryffel for the election to the Board at the annual General Assembly on 25 April 2024: “Urs Ryffel draws on profound expertise in the management of international companies. As Urs Kauffmann will not be running for re-election in the spring at his own request, we consider ourselves fortunate to have found a candidate in Urs Ryffel who will complete the Board of Directors in this respect,” Claude R. Cornaz, Chairman of the Board of Directors, explains the decision.

Born in Switzerland, Urs Ryffel looks back on many years of industrial experience: after starting his career as project manager at ABB Kraftwerke AG, he presided over the global business unit Hydro Power Plant Service. He worked as Unit General Manager for Alstom Power Portugal S.A. in Lisbon from 1999 to 2001 and for Alstom Power Hydraulique S.A. in Paris from 2001 to 2002. In 2002, he joined HUBER+SUHNER AG, initially as Business Unit Manager. Since 2017, he has been leading the Group as CEO.

If elected, the 56-year-old will take up his new position on the Vetropack Group Board of Directors in April 2024.
